I had seen a post awhile back of someone installing an in dash GPS unit in their Ford. They did not use the flip screen type headunit but rather the 6 inch screen directly in the dash. I know there isnt one available for my truck that you don't have to modify the dash bezel. Anyway, anyone have any info on this?
Pull off your radio dash surround (the big giant piece). In the radio opening you'll notice about a 1/8" lip that goes all the way around the opening. Grind that off the top and bottom of the opening. Don't use any fit kits or the cage that comes with the radio. My radio had threaded holes in the side of it, so I used screws from the dash to the holes.
