I've always wanted to build a sand rail with a twined 12 valve in it. Has anybody seen anything like that, if so post some pics.

i would think youd aim for lightwieght horsepower in a sandrail....meaning a gasser or tiny diesel

I am building a sand rail /dune buggy / back yard toy out of an old VW chassis tubed frame and a 73 porche 1.4 fuel injected engine .. from what I have hgeard the VW engine makes them go like snot so anything much bigger would be over kill and anything heavy would make it back heavy if built traditional rear engine

Sounds more like a rock buggy. Are you going to stay 2wd or 4wd?
I've seen some diesel powered wheelers, but can't think of any tube chassis ones.
Here's a wild 1 seater with V8 gasser and my buddies 2 seater Avalanche chassis with a ramjet 350 on 42's.

Yeah somthing like whats in the pics but with a longer nose, i don't rock crawl so I really don't need the tires to stick out past the front end. It will be a 4 wheel drive too. Are these chassis sold to the public or are they custome built around the drive train.

theres alot of rock crawling chassis for sale, but I don't think any of them are built strong enough to hold the weight of a cummins. I could be wrong. Most of them run small blocks or smaller. You could always fab your own.

2007.5 DODGE 6.7 1-TON 6-speed stock for now. B&W turnover ball.
1994 DODGE 5.9 3/4 TON AUTO, DD4 injectors,191 DV's, 0 plate,3K GSK,Timing at 16.5, Volant air intake, Straight pipe 4", BD tranny.
1999 VW jetta TDI 5-speed 50 M.P.G. +
2006 Jayco Talon 5th wheel toyhauler 36'
1969 Chevy stepside still stock but not for long

THE PULLER 1977 CHEVY STEPSIDE
468 BIG BLOCK ALUMINUM RODS,PISTONS,HEADS,PROFAB T-CASE.
