Need Advice.....

Hey all, I'm running Spartan 250 right now with the flo pro exhaust and S&B intake. Recently I've noticed the truck has become somewhat hesitant. Sitting at idle, when it starts to kick up the fuel rail pressure will jump about 500PSI or more and the rpms jump from about 550 to 700 (ish), also there is a messed up knocking noise coming from what sounds to be around the front passenger side (DPF cycling? shouldn't be!). Running down the HWY now, It'll start doing the same thing, except the fuel rail pressure swings are a bit bigger. It has been getting gradually worse over the last week or so. I was running the 275 and today when I popped the hood, I noticed some old coolant around the degas bottle. Topped it up about 1-2ltrs, checked colour (all is good) and the oil is still fine and at normal level.
So my question is; Has anyone had this similar issue or have any idea of what may be happening? Anyway, any response will be much appreciated!
