Not sure this is the right fourm, move if necessary. I'm swapping a 1988 DT466 into my 71 travelette. Just have a few questions. My goal is around 500 rwhp. What pump should this engine have and is it up to snuff for 500? It appears to be an inline pump. What trans should it be? Its a 5 speed but not sure if its od or direct. My plan is to get the biggest yokes available for the divorced np205 case. I'm going to run a D60 front. I'm undecided on a rear axle, I have a corporate 14b I was thinking of regearing to 3.55 for the back. again seeing what yokes I could match up and hope driveshafts arn't my weak links. Opinions and input greatly appreciated!
I too was wondering how it's going. I've been sitting on a somewhat incomplete 466 that I got as a parts donor for one of my plow trucks a few years ago with intentions of finding a cool old truck to cram it in. Well yesterday I brought home a '73 IH 1310 4x4, no bed just a cab and chassis. Looks like I have my work cut out but it will be very similar to what you are doing so I'm very interested in this thread!
I forgot about this one. I downloaded tapatalk and haven't got on here much. I just pushed the frame back into the shop. Trying to get some paint thrown down asap.
Waiting to get the sheetmetal back now. Other then having the trans bolted up and everything in primer, not much exciting has happened. I'm going to be taking it to Jersey for body work. Not sure if I posted the colors I want, this will be them...
Got the 360 swap done on the ford, that's why I haven't touched this in forever.
Got all the metal back from blast. The hoods need work, doors are all good but one little hole that needs a patch, inner fenders and fenders are perfect. Got a hood coming to me from Oregon, picking up at nationals. Thinking these are good hoods for someone that's just using the truck on a farm, or isn't getting crazy with body work.
Been a bit of work done since last post, didn't get to the body shop since I'm working on getting a new house and shop.
Couple cans of eastwood internal rust encapsulator in all the panels.
Back on the frame so it's one piece to move. Talked to Mike Moore at scoutco's body man. Have a idea of what it'll cost. Hopefully it'll get there this summer.
