I am a powerstroke guy. My neighbor has a 99 Cummins with 150k on it.. He was going to trade it in on a new one but I convinced him to spend 3 or 4 grand on the olde but goodie and he could keep it for another 10 years with minimal maintenence.. He has done nothing to it except recent lift pump and injector pump.. We want to replace all engine parts that are likely to go soon and bring her up to new condition. Would you guys make me a list of any componant you would replace if you wanted to go another 100K with no break downs.. Budget for engine around 3k and it has a 5 speed stick so no tranny issues. You guys know the weak points...What do you think???
Thanks in advance PS he want a chip to ...who do you like TS? etc.

well if he put an aftermarket lift pump fass airdog raptor or similar on it he is good. but if went with a stock lift pump change asap. if he doesn't have gauges get a edge juice with attitude it will do everything needed especially fuel pressure. 150k is nothing just adjust the valves retorque the head. add a cold air intake 4" turbo back exhaust and enjoy the truck. one issue that may arise is a cracked exhaust manifold so he may want to purchase one to have if it does happen they are not hard to change. if he is planning on a chip I would say also get a upgraded clutch like a southbend. thats all I can think of.

just run it as they can live a long time. if he is worried about them replace them, but don't see a reason to fix whats not broke. most water pumps go 200k some longer some shorter. the vac pump is fine unless it's leaking then just change the seals and it will be fine
