hey, I`m looking for a compound set and some injectors. I want to hit 500+whp, but keep it so driveable as possible... I`ve seen on this set http://www.pdrdiesel.com/products/C...300_HT3B_1998_2002_Dodge_Cummins-685-162.html , but also ATS...
what are your experience of these twins??:help
also how big injector nozzles does the vp44 pump handle?
You can build a set of twins using your HX35 for the top and a HT3B or S366 or S471 for the primary, should have enough air for 500 hp, and build your exhaust when you make the decision on the twins set. For injectors 120 hp stick. You will need a good fuel transfer pump. And a better air cleaner. What fuel box are you going to run? The edge would be ok or are you wanting more? And you will want to O-ring the head and install studs.
I am running the edge juice w/attitude cts, looking to get the hot unlock. My stock turbo is getting a bit tired, so i need to replace it anyway, so i'm looking for a comlete set. I will also get a set of head studs, but not o-ringed yet. I was looking at the 150hp ddp injectors, but is this too much for the vp44?
Thanks
I am running a Borg Warner 57/65/12 over a S475. I bought all of my piping from Source Automotive. It was very easy to install and performs really well. I also wrapped bothe turbos and the hot pipe and the down pipe in heat wrap to help with the under hood temps. I have about 3500 total in my set up.
If you are some what mechanical it is easy to do and eveything was a direct bolt up. Good luck.
You will want to make sure that you have an aftermarket lift pump like a FASS or Air Dog. The VP's need it worse than the P-pump trucks. BTW that is my nest purchase is the Air Dog.
Yes, but not for long. The head bolts will stretch and that will be the end of you head gasket. If you are going to be happy with 500 hp why not just run a EFR 57/68?
If the bolts or studs stretch the o-rings won't be much good anymore. Personally, I am not huge on o-rings, and would throw my money towards having all the surfaced machined, and putting ARP 625's in. We were holding 1240hp in a common rail without o-rings, until the block cracked.
S300g/s475 with a set of 7x.012's and a drag box will get you there no problem. I'm at 480 with a tiny little hx35/h2e set up and have more fuel than I know what to do with. Even with a shot of spray it won't clean up at 630hp. With 8x.011's.
I would also recommend not stacking, granted I only ever tried an edge smarty stack, but with everything maxed, no spray I lost 36hp.
