The recall included 1.5 million two-door refrigerators manufactured between April 1997 and May 2003. The recent expansion of this recall now includes the same two-door refrigerators, manufactured between June 2003 and September 2006.

Thanks for posting this Erik. I just went out and got the numbers off mine and it does qualify. What all exactly has to be done. I have a feeling most of the dealers around here will want to charge me for something they shouldn't. They are all pretty much of the sort their stuff don't stink, but your's is rotten.

Got my recall yesterday and my fridge does qualify. So now I have to make an appointment at the local RV shop, probably 3 months out. Or maybe it will blow up and total my trailer (without my family in it) and then I can upgrade!

Thanks for the reply. You have done enough already. Just letting us know. I wish I could buy the kit. Can you at least give me a kit # or something of the like. I am a bus mechanic by trade and pretty confident if I can come up with one I will install it myself. I will however research mobile repair. I have a feeling it will not be very practical with that route either. The only RV repair shop is 90 miles from me and I understand they are not the greatest. Probably have to go look around further south. Prescott, or Cottonwood maybe. Hope I don't have to go as far as Phoenix to get a repair. over 200 miles each way!!!!:bang::bang::bang:

Got mine done today. Gentleman just left a few minutes ago and did it right here at the house for me. He came out and certified another camper for me I have for sale and did the recall while he was here. Come to find out some clown somewhere along the line did half the recall. :damnit All they did was install the heat shields and just layed a wire in behind them without the thermal fuse or hooking it up. :bang: Needless to say this guy hooked me up and done it right. He also only charged me $50 to come to my place and check my camper over that is for sale and certify it. :thumbsup

Thanks again Erik for posting this recall info, I would have never known since we bought the fiver used. :thumbsup
