New engine build/ Tuning question

We put together an engine and reused pistons and checked the bore and honed it out and used new rings. Running stock injectors, gen 3 pump, and DP tune for stock injectors with stock hpop. There seems to be excessive blowby and hard starting. We have done cylinder contribution tests and all other tests with scanner and everything checks out. We are getting a IDM code and a computer code, but I assume that is because of the idm being modified and the computer having the chip on it? The question is do the rings take a bit of time to seat? There is about 150km on the engine with just easy driving. Thanks in advance.

quit babying it.
I haven't had to rebuilt a 7.3 yet but the bigger diesel's that I over haul. as soon a I have it running good enough I take off down the road with it. and dont let it sit there and idle for very long!!!!
the rings need some heat and pressure to seat. I dont recomend abuseing it right off the bat but drive it like you normally would.

Ditto, don't baby it. Get on it and make some boost to seat the rings and then let off. What you are trying to do is seat the rings and when you back off it allows the oil to coat the cylinder walls again. If this dosen't cure your blow by you may have some ring gaps lined up.
