I have an 02 F350 Super Duty. There are no mods on it. I bought it from a guy and he told me it ran great and then I went to start it one day and it kept stalling on me. Soon to find out it was out of oil. It was going through 3 qt a day easily somtimes more. So I had a "powerstroke" man change the outter o'rings on the injectors and said that would fix it. It did not and it is still using excessive oil. I took it back to the guy and he said that there are o'rings on the inside of the injectors and I need to buy new injectors to fix that for $1,200. There are no puddles when it sits. Doesn't white smoke at all. And the undercarriage is spotless. Any ideas?

Sad to say, the mechanic is probably right. Mine did the same thing awhile ago and I replaced the outer o-rings. That fixed it for a little while and then the injectors themselves go to the point they were passing oil so I had to replace them. $1200 sounds pretty close to the best you might find too.
