04-17-13 HARD START OR NO START - GPCM CONNECTOR SERVICE KIT AVAILABLE - 6.0L ENGINE

FORD: 2003-2004 Excursion, F-Super Duty


ISSUE:
Some 6.0L equipped vehicles may exhibit a hard start or no start condition due to a glow plug control module (GPCM) connector.

ACTION:
Inspect the GPCM connectors for pin related concerns such as pin fit, pull out, bending, corrosion, etc. If a concern is found, replace the green or black GPCM connector using the new GPCM connector service kit. The kit contains an instruction sheet and a replacement connector with a pigtail that can be spliced into the existing harness. If no pin related concerns are present, proceed with normal diagnosis.
