Just better gaskets than the 04's back I think. I'm sure the experts will say something soon.

Gaskets only, and the tech said something about revised torque and tightening pattern

 

so if I get an 06 I shouldn't have to much worries about blowing out a head gasket?

my 05 with 15,000 miles goes in on monday for studs and gaskets

 

did you blow them or are you just putting in some aftermarket ones?

 

yea it pukes like crazy anytime i tow my trailer over 70mph

 

Well I am looken at an 06 so hopefully I will get lucky and get one of those good ones that the studs and gaskets hold togther

Just got word from DJ that anything past a Jan 22/06 build is completely differnet. Diff heads, gaskets everything, only thing the same was the injectors. Stay tuned for more info cause thats all I have.

interesting that they would change heads when a new motor is coming out.

New '06 motor, build date after January 20, 2006 - No part will interchange between '03-'04-'05. We have a customer down here with one and this thing is boosting about 42 lbs., but transmission won't shift. SCT will have a fix in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned. opcorn: opcorn:

The '06's look like they are going to be very, very fast. We'll be dissecting one in the next couple of weeks also. NO OFFENSE TO THE FROG. LOL

Fordguy, what were you running in the truck. Module -- tuner, which file? Curious about your setup and what may have caused it to fail.

 

well i had an edge and msd propane thats what caused the blow out. now i just have an sct but i want to run the propane again. oh yea i have an intake an exaust and the banjo bolt mod

 

Are you saying the edge popped it or the propane popped it, or the both combined. How many miles?

I dont wont to :hijacked: did you get more mpg with the msd propane?

 

both did it i was doing a sled pull when it happend the frist time i had the edge on 5 and the propane all the way up. when i ran the propane with the edge around town i would put the edge on 1 and leave the propane all the way up and i would get between 25 and 29 mpg

 

That sucks, we bought our 6.0 in October.

which date are you talking about? i'm assuming you mean the engine build date, not the truck...? my truck build date is jan 24, but the motor is november. the date on the door post is the truck build date, right? anyone else know anything about this "new" 06 motor?
