Swinging a second hand motor into my 93 W-9. DDEC 2 out DDEC 2 in.

Noticed the "new" motor has a DDEC 3 ECM. Was explained to me that the DDEC 2 ECM was superseded to the 3 when Detroit stopped making 2's. I was planning on using the original ECM anyway, but have started wondering about reluctor wheels. The crank wheel on the 2 series motors was a six vane. On the 3 series it is a 12 vane. Guess i'll remove the sensor and count.

Anybody else have anything to add?

Counted Reluctor vanes. Stripped all the parts off both sides of the motor excepting the water pump and air compressor.

Valve cover and oil pan too. Cam lobes, and roller rocker chrome facings all nice and shiny. Crank and rotating assemblies all nice and clean. Main caps were numbered by hand.
Intake and exhaust ports were dry. Lotta carbon on exhaust port 1 and 6. Little bit of oil weepage on the valve stems.
Gonna lay underneath and stare for a while. Cylinder bores are so shiny I cant see any cross hatching looking up there with a light.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
