No fear..... it started with just looking for a good place to tie in the harness, but then when I think of the overall lift and such, maybe I like the added rigidity of the cab structure. Ultimately IDK what the heck the trucks intended purpose... but it definately isn't rockcrawling as that is not the type of truck I would build for such activity, been there!

Sent my steering gear out to PSC today for a rebuild and set up for hydro assist. And finally have my power steering pump issues solved.

I had the guys over at Straight Line set me up with this Vickers vane pump...

Mounts to my SAE A flange adapter...

Fits nice...

Using a PSC reservoir...

Looks like I have two options for mounting this water/air intercooler.

Above the motor, which will make valve adjustments and such a little more complicated...

Or on the fender, which may complicate the addition of a second charger if I go back that direction...

Hmmmmm....

I would go with the second choice. That spot seems less likely to interfere with everything else.

Either way hot/cold pipe routing is going to be interesting. I look forward to your solution.

Are you going to run a separate cooler in front of the radiator for it?

The water/air setup is stand alone... I have a radiator/heat exchanger that can be mounted in the bed along with electric fans and Bosch water pump. The specs on the water to air IC are very atractive!

Nice. I've seen one set-up on a gasser. This should be pretty cool.

Let us know where you decide on location.

You put a line lock on the fronts? You must have way more patience than I. I lost my mind just bending one new brake line.

bending brake lines isnt bad. i ran all new brake lines on a bagged '53 DeSoto. i dont think its that bad at all.

If it wasn't for the line lock and the soon to come adjustable proportioning valve for the rear... then not too bad, but all that runing in and out of the cab is :thumbdown
