I have a friend that bought a new 2006 GMC 2500HD with the factory tow mirrors. They have the 2 arms like the Ford's with heat, convex, and turn signals. He took them off shortly after he bought the truck. Said he didn't like the reflection from the lines of the road. :shrugs So now he wants to sell them and I'm trying to find out how much they were new and how much they're worth. Thanks for your help.

Newbie Here

Let me know what he wants for them, and where he's located.

I might be interested if the price is right.

I googled this search, so I'm first time poster here. Usually trawling on Dieseplace.com

I'd be interested too. Factory take off's used to sell for about $450, but the price of new ones has recently dropped. You can get a set of new ones with heat, signals, and power adjust for $300-$350.

mirrors

Why do you think they dropped off so much? Poor economy, lots of competition or did GM switch vendors for their mirrors?

One guy on a neighboring board got flamed pretty good for asking $600 for a pair. There were lots of follow up posts regarding brand new mirrors selling for like $140 apiece on certain websites.

With new trucks running $60K,the only thing I can afford to upgrade is mirrors.

More trucks on the market, they are getting older, more aftermarket parts are being made for them, there could be a lot of reasons, but there is no way a set of these mirrors should cost $600, especially factory take-offs, your basically selling "used" parts, no matter how new the truck is, i wouldn't think even brand new GM mirrors would be more that $300/each....
