the 6.6 is for the big boys to play with, the suburban is heavy and big, it makes more sence to put the more fuel efficient 4.5 into it, maybe lure some people who like the suburban but dont like the fuel costs of a gasser:Thumbup:

that "duramin" is suppose to make as much power as the original duramax made and be 2.1 liters smaller
With 7 years of technoligical advancements, I have no reason to doubt that at all-

I dont think so Mike, I think it got dropped earlier this year, if not late last year. :( I could be wrong though. Look at the age of this thread as well, its from early last year-

I remember reading some article with the engineers reasoning why they won't release it with the 6.6. The 4.5 will have the 6L90 behind it since the 6.6 requires the Allison. I don't really get it. There was an article about the 6L90 being GM's very own lighter Allison, after the sell-off. The Allison would require a body lift or some crap to make it fit.

they not just put the Bloody 6.6 in the 1500's and call it good. . .
They had 6.2/6.5's in 1500's once may as well make'em fit the 6.6L . . .

That was before they had to meet emissions on 1/2-ton diesels. They would never get that passed now.
