What luck is everyone having with their commercial grade tires? Is anyone using the TOYO Open Country HT LT235 85R16

I pull the tires off the pickup for the trailer at about 5/32 nds.

It is 2wd so I usually get a pair and start on the rear, move them to the front and then to the trailer. I have run 245s, 235s and now went to 265s.

Works pretty close for me - they come off the trailer at 2/32nds.

The 235s wanted to sink in the tomato patch, the 265s are the same dia and work better in sugar sand, haven't had to unload and tow the pickup with the wider tires.

As much as I hate to admit it I run Chinese tires on my trailer. Brand is Hi-Run. 3 ply sidewall, 16 ply rated, 4000 lb dual at 100 psi. Roll easy and true. So far had good luck with them. They would be pretty harse on a pickup though.

depends on what your running, what speeds and what weight

I use FIrestone Transforce H/T's on my 14k camper. They sure made an improvement over the old goodyears.

On my goose neck (30',32') dually trailers I run 225/75/19.5, I got a bunch of 19.5 8 on 6 1/2 GM bread van rims a few years ago, I had a local machine shop cut the centers out to 4.75" (to fit Dexter 10k and 12k axles) and I cleaned them all up and painted them gray.

I had about 10 left over from a F550 I put 8R19.5 on, they are much better then 235/85R16. They are more stable, less heat and are rated @ 3950#'s single and 3750#'s dual.

Forest Service ran 8 19.5 for a few years on pickups, I had them on a 60 Dodge d300 SRW, hauled scrap for about 60k miles and still had good tread when I sold it.

I would like to find another set priced right.

19.5's are the way to go :thumbsup . . .

the K2500 has ahd 235/85r16'a and 7.50-16's i think the biasply's were slightly better tho they ride rough and wear faster they gripped better . . .

But in due time i'll be replacing my 16's with 19.5's on this truck as well twice the wear for the same price or less per tire . . .
