What else can be done to a 24valve to get more power.. I have 150 injectory and a comp box and a Built transmission and a holset hx40 turbo.. Are there any more good fueling boxes out there that are as good or better than the Edge comp box.. I have a 64 mm turbo that I need to change so it will fit my truck..

The comp does a pretty good job of making power on the 2nd gen trucks. You could upgrade to a drag comp or get an edge juice with attitude and upgrade to the HOT version. Not sure if either is worth the $$$ for the power.
A hot rod vp44 may give you 40hp average.
If you are running out of air with the hx40 the 64 will allow you to use some of that fuel you may be currently exhausting.
There are a lot of things you could try, but it seems like some trucks respond to upgrades better than others. It also depends on what kind of power you want. Seat of the pants power, dyno power, sledpulling power, towing power?

do the Smarty or a mad ECM and a TST PM3 (competition version) stacked on that. Or the Smarty or Mad with a JVD stacked either or. Bigger injectors, bigger turbo for sure and a cam wouldnt hurt either.

who's 150's are they EDM'd or EH'd?

What about the Redline box.. sounds like a good box but it also has a nice price.. I would like to get a different cam as well.. not to much bigger because I drive this truck everyday.. just a moderate increase in power.. looking at the scheid lightning pump and I have A5k that I can strap on there as well.

The redline is supposed to be the great, but I don't think you will see a power increase worth the price if you get one at all.
You can try to stack some things. Some are trying up to 3 stacks, yet to be dynoed. Drag comp (no tap)/TST/Smarty 8, Smarty/TST, Smarty/comp or juice, EZ/TST, Smarty/redline, etc.
If you are burning your fuel, new injectors could also be an option

"The Mach 8 Dyno charts are here http://www.f1diesel.com/mach8runs.html. These dyno runs were done with a 2002 truck using a single B-1 turbocharger, Redline and Edge Comp fueling boxes, the Helix 3 camshaft and a 4" exhaust system through the muffler. The injection pump was not advancing timing properly and the truck was throwing codes. In the days following with a new pump the truck made 832 with the same parts combination. The 832 HP dyno graph is here."
This was pulled from F1diesel's website. The power is there to be had, just think of what twins could get you.
That may be what you are looking for.

That is interesting. Redline and Edge Comp. I wonder how they have that setup. And I wonder if that is a SO or HO truck?
None the less, that is pretty impressive, only 5 engine mods.
Although I think the truck was running NOS to get that number.

A good cam grind will never make your truck less driveable. If anything it will make it more enjoyable, have better performance, and yield better mileage. There is a big difference between a set of regular 150hp extrude honed, EDM, and extrude honed by someone who knows what they are doing. As mentioned above you can always add a HRVP44. It will net you more than 40hp, but we are not going to go down that road again. Also make sure you have addressed your fuel supply, big HP needs lots of fuel for a VP44. I personally think the HX-40 is what is holding you back right now.

A Edge Drag Comp, 150hp injectors, open air intake, and a 64mm turbo should net you right around 500hp.

yeah, a better turbo will make all the difference in the world. My buddy's truck hit 468 with an hx-40 then 550 with a Bell USB and the same fueling mods. The USB made the truck far less friendly for towing though. I'm sure there are better turbos out there, but that will show you what more air up top can accomplish. As far as the Redline and Drag comp are concerned, I don't think that the Redline changes timing at all, or has a setting without adjusting timing. But nevertheless, its an impressive number.

The timing is what I was wondering about. That makes sense if the redline doesn't do timing.
I would install the turbo and go from there. Don't change a bunch of mods on the truck you may end up chasing what gave you less hp. It is amazing how often that happens to people.
