4mg93944 timing with meter am I doing this correctly I really am not understanding the start screw meaning when I see the timing starting to advance from a idle and not from a set rpm as stated in posts could someone explain this or have I got a problem. Advance is rebuilt and stop screw is removed. the following is what it started with pin timed and then start screw turned out 5 turns and then another 5 turns. This is in my personal mechanics truck and am trying to get a little better fuel mpg but don't want to melt it down, truck weights about 52000.

5 turns out 5 more turns out

The second set of specs you listed look pretty good other than the starts a bit low. Only way to get it exactly where it needs to be now is start over and advance the static timing 2° and start over on you start and stop screw adjustments
