I saw a 6.7L Cummins in a tractor. The engine was rated at 125 HP. And I knew nothing about the torque. No EGR, nothing that I saw atleast, No Variable turbo. Common Rail fuel injection. Weird intake.

I was surprise at only 125HP, I know a tractor doesn't need too much. But I think they derated these engines all the way down 105!

I'm alittle confused why the 4.5 L in there.

The 7110 and 7210 were 8.3L at ~125 PTO hp. The 5220 was ~120PTO w/ a 5.9L.

IIRC, the Deere 6400 has a turbo'd 4.5L engine in it. ~95-100hp.

Then they used the 6.8 and the 7.6 and 8.1 in the bigger ones. Have the 9L to replace the 8.1 now. We have one of the last 8.1s in our 8420.

Not the Deere equipment. Deere did use some N14s (~400+hp) in some of their largest self-propelled ensilage choppers, they pretty much use their own engines.

Only the 8.3 and 5.9 were Cummins. The AC 8070 uses a turbo'd Allis-Chalmers 426 CID 6 cyl. diesel.

I work for the Red Tractor company as a technical service guy. The 6.7 will be close to what you see on the on road trucks. We do not have to meet as strict emissions currently so we dont have all the fancy emmisions stuff on it. for our tractors horse power stays fairly low compared to the displacement of our engines because we are really after torque and horsepower/torque growth under intermittand heavy load conditions. You may also notice the Case IH 6.8 engines. Its basically the same as the 6.7 but we just rounded it up a bit. Cummins decided to round down to the 6.7 so we also decided to change ours to coincide "I Think". I cant keep up with marketing. We even have mechanical versions running Bosch VE series pumps. Hope this helps.

I got the Case IH procure or whatever and I think they are still calling it a 6.7.

The derating of these engines really doesn't suprise me, because tractors got all the gears in the world. You could probably get a hamster on a wheel and to pull a trailer with the gears you see in tractors.

What did suprise me though is that there doesn't seem to be any big emissions things on it. I thought sometime the offroad and onroad emissions were suppose to be the same.
