6v92 locked up

Back story:
79 international 2574 dump truck
With a 335hp 6v92 in it.

I wad towing my excavator the other day doing ~60 on the hwy and just as i started up a hill i started loosing power and by the time i got of the road the motor was froze up.

Oil was full up. And the operating temp hadnt been out of range.

What are the chances ill be able to get away with just doing and inframe on it?

Probably zero! Check for junk in oil and pull the pan if it is not full of scrap iron. Look for the problem and check the crank for end play with a pry bar. If you don't see anything wrong maybe you got lucky with something I never heard of. Blower drive went out, no air no run, and you shut it off before serious damaged was caused.

Update:
Drained the oil last night and dropped the pan.
Something let go inside its possible the motor hydro locked.
5 gallons of oil and 10 gallons of coolant came out of the crank case.
So far nothing looks hurt. I should have the heads off next weekend. Im thinking a liner cracked.

Before i go blindly taking the rack components off is there a procedure i should follow.
(Ie: Marking components, positions, orientations, etc)

This is my first go round with mechanical fuel injection...

Does the crank have end play? Probably not because coolant is a poor lubricant and the bearings are surely seized. Needs a bare block overhaul and a crank. You could buy another truck for that. Probably can buy a used engine, build and install it cheaper than fixing yours. Maybe your luck is better than mine. Taking them apart is not a problem. Putting them together wrong can have screaming results. I still have two manuals when I looked and would part with one of them. The back cover is missing and the front is not attached, other wise in good condition. What is a reason price plus shipping and handling to you? I did not sign up here to sell stuff and am probably breaking rules. Check out the correct way to do that and let me know.

v6 92 inframe

if the crank is still spinning and not locked, yes i think it hydro locked, check block deck good, check injector coppers for leaks, you stopped it quick so bearing damage is minimal , good candidate for inframe, 6v 92 kits are very reasonable, i hope for your sake it is a cracked liner very easy repair , all 2 stroke detroits liners can be purchased in over size, meaning you hone the block to fit said liner, iam not a detroit guy small cams big cams were more in my time.good luck on your decision if i can help let me know. fest -----------------out
