So I acquired a 1988 379 Pete with a 425 4mg.. It was burning coolant when I got it but otherwise it ran fine. Never pulled with it just bob tailed around some. It had pinholes in the liners so I went ahead and overhauled it. I pulled the advance to check it out/reset timing and notice the pump is an 7e5888 with 11 degree advance cam in it. Does anyone know what I can expect with this pump with 3423 nozzles?
I went ahead and pin timed it, set the flywheel hole where top half of hole is visible with the injector pump pinned. At this point I do not want to swap pumps out unless absolutely necessary. It obviously worked this way before.. I don't need a hot rod motor but would like it to pull good. Anyone have any input?
