I have recently purchased a 1987 Ford F-250 4x4 6.9L Diesel. I have had a few of these old trucks. I've had some with a 4:10 rearend I had one with a 3:55. I 'm not sure what rearend this truck has. Someone told me you could look on the sticker on the door post and it would tell you. On the sticker it says axle C5.
If anyone knows what this means I would appreciate some help.

Im betting its a 3.55, the 4.10 ratio were mainly in duallys and F350 trucks. Can you look and see if there is a tag on the rear end? Going by the tag on the door might not be 100% accurate if someone swapped out the gears on you.

If you dont have a tag and really want to know 100% you can tell us your RPM's at certain speeds.

I'll take a look at the rearend and see if I can find a tag on it. I appreciate the info.
