I recently bought a 94 6.5 diesel, it ran for a few months then one day it started up and shut off and wouldnt start again.
I rplaced the LP on driver side frame rail, and the fuel filter. bled air and wouldnt start. A week later I got it started with the help of a little bit of ether, it ran for 2 30min periods. on the 2 period i shut it off and let sit for 5 mins and it never started after that. 2 days later I got it running by bleeding more air out, and i have looked for air leaks and no luck. but i drove the truck for 2 days straigh and then it shut off going down freeway.
If anyone has any idea or a place to start please anything will help.

Bleeding air pockets to get it running often mean there is a leak between the fuel level in the tank and the lift pump, lines rot including holes developing in the sending unit dip tube.

Also the o-rings sealing the water in fuel sensor and the fuel heater are known places for leaks and air infiltration after shutdown-fuel leaks when running, both are located in the filter housing.

As for the stalling problem and hard starts the PMD may be to blame-you would be well advised to have a known working PMD/resistor mounted on a heatsink outside the engine bay and connected with an extension cable as well as having a spare PMD/heatsink/resistor combo in the glovebox for emergency installation.

Do you have any trouble codes?SES light?
