From what I've read, all the equipment that their shipping up there is to support the Canadian "conflict free" oil fields. In turn, they want to build a pipeline from Canada basically down the middle of the US to the ports in the Gulf of Mexico.

I have only spent the last few minutes looking information up on this issue.

On one hand it sounds like it could be bad. On the other, we consume oil. Are we not a part of the problem?

One thing is for certain, there is no easy answer.

Agreed. I'm sure the residents that live in the areas of the proposed pipeline are in a unique situation.

Jobs? all i can say really.
If it was meant to spur job production, they would have kept the building of the machinery local to the production area. That is what they did previously.

I'm simply astounded that the companies behind this move would go ahead and build the machinery off-site and then expect the government and the taxpayers to subsidize the transportation of the bill.

What especially bothers me is the country they are talking about tearing up in the process.
