Anyone Conv 6.0 to 12v using stock 5R110?

I've got a 1991 12v in a 2005 F250. I utilized the 5R110 with a PCS controller. Has anyone got a file or some suggestions on tuning this thing?

Also I'm only getting 10-11 MPG!! Any suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks.

i run a zf6 manual and get 15-18....not to many guys running the 5r110....hows it run with the 64mm and 360s
it definitely needs some tuning if its only doing 10-11. the marine injectors might not be helping it though.

what are your EGTs and boost while cruising?

Have you talked with scott from destroked? dont they have a file for it as they sell them?
The motor runs fine, but when it shifts into third it pours out the smoke, no matter how hard you are into it.
As far as the tranny goes only time will tell...... already busted 2 lines (my mistake)
I need to get some gov springs and delivery valves and some gauges.
I didn't realize how much time and money it takes to do a conversion, but its in there!!!!!! Hope i answered the questions,
i think you should get that shifting sorted out or you're going to have a toasted tranny real quick-like. everything i've read leads me to this conclusion:
  • tuning is essential for the 5r110 lifespan
  • the tranny can live behind medium power levels once tuned well
  • no aftermarket tuner can make a 5r110 survive at hi-hp levels as well as the factory pcm can

just my opinion.

I really don't plan on it lasting too long, but i'll get all i can out of it. The factory pcm has definitely got me beat so far. I"m still learning though!
It almost sounds like the TC is locking when it is shifting to 3rd if it is smoking like that. You definitely can get milage out of it. I got 18-19 with a 215hp 12v with 300's, 0 plate, and a S300. The truck was a 92 ford DRW 4x4 with 4.10's and 305's. Also, what HP rating is your engine? You may need to bump the timing up to help with the extra fuel. The industrial P7100's aren't set up the same as the Dodge P7100's.

I'll take any suggestions ya'll have, As far as the timing goes, Don't you just turn the pump a hair?
The engine didn't have a id plate on the gear cover, all i can do is guess.
The converter locks up after it shifts into third,.........
No, you can't rotate the P7100 to alter timing like the old rotary pumps. To change the timing you have to pop the IP gear loose, retorque it to 10ft lbs, and use a dial indicator in the #1 DV bore and set it by rotating the engine until you reach your timing, pop the gear back loose and bring the engine to TDC and torque IP nut. If you need more detailed info let me know. But initially to turn the pump up, yes you slide the fuel plate towards the front of the engine.

Can you set the controller to lock it up at 5th like normal and see how the mileage reacts?

its not too bad, what kind of set up are you going to have?
stock 97 12v in front of a 5r110 in a '03 F-450. electric fans, 3" exhaust and a BHAF
How far have you come? are you still in the process?

Well I finally got the dang torque converter set i think, but blew the back freeze plug out!!!!
runs like a champ now
Did you put a block off plate on it so it doesn't do it again?
what about running a bypass from the back plug to the front?
