Ok Im looking to build my snow plow bronco a little better for plowing. it works great It is a 92 with a 5.8 e40d with a V plow. But the darn thing has high way gears 3:04 or 3:54 i dont remember. any way I have a shot at a 85 F-250 cheep I was going to swap the rears. the back is easy But the front i was wondering if I can swap the punkin out because they are both Dana 44? I thought i would use all the 250 stuff except the housing. Is that posable? or will I have to swap it to leaf spring? or should I just change from the spindle out and get matching 4:10 for the front?
Thanks.

Rather than buying a parts truck and doing all the work to swap things over, what about just changing the gear ratio front and rear? Seems like you should be able to do that for under $500 or so. Unless you want the 3/4 ton suspension all the way around.
