I have a C model cat oil pan down doing rods and mains and was wondering if there's a benefit to changing to double squirters on original alum pistons, or can it not be done.

Yes, use part# 166-3650 for the double cooling nozzle and part# 9Y-1792 for the higher flow-psi oil pump releif valve spring retainer. these Piston coolers use your original bolt and will provide better cooling of the pistons. Cant tell you how much or how much more resisting to cracking this will make them but it cant hurt and will give you a bit more oil pressure...they are kinda pricey though....$70-80ea...idk about the 9y-1792 price but im sure its no more than $25...only a piece ofsheetmetal. just so we're clear you must use the higher psi 9y-1792 retainer if you install the double piston cooler nozzles...if not you'll have low oil psi.

Thank you Cat Attack. So the double oilers and retainer could be used on one piece alum pistons ?
