We needed new tires for our 28' Delta lo-pro trailer. Instead of replacing the 235/80R16 tires we put on 235/75R17.5 singles. Easy swap and tires should last way longer, fewer flats and the trailer should pull easier. Not to mention checking air pressure will be faster and easier now.

Is the load capacity the same as the duals? One thing is you might find the trailer rides rougher with the singles since the singles won't bridge the potholes. Like the part about easier checking the air pressure. I ended up putting air extensions on the inner that clip to the outer wheel.

Load capacity is the same 6000lbs/tire&trim with 17.5" tires. 235/75r17.5 Hercules H-902 17/32" of tread 75 mph rated tires. I'd trust the 4 16 ply tires to carry the load more than the POS 16" tires that were on the trailer.

Our gravel roads would tear those extensions on the valve stems to shreds in no time.
