I have a 2004 Excursion, thinking of a 24v 5.9 conversion can anybody give me an approx cost for the conversion? I know theres alot of variables to consider, but I'm just looking for a ballpark price. I will have a diesel shop do the conversion.

I don't have any issues with my VP now that I have a lift pump, but if you are starting from scratch it would probably be better to go common rail.

Motor mounts and trans plates, plus a new TC. I think Destroked or Auto World has most of what you are looking for, except the TC and SSOR is a Destroked dealer. I'm going with Precision Industries for the TC when I put the Allison behind the 24 Valve.

Are you planning on doing the swap yourself or paying someone? The labor alone can be as much a pull-out complete Cummins.

Look for places in your area. Screamin Seeman Off Road is in MN(he did mine), Destroked is in CO and Auto World is in MT. I'm sure there are others.

What size compounds are you running now? How about CP3's?

I'd say there's a truck up here that is right up there in power, if not ahead of yours. And he's got half that in his conversion, done at a reputable shop.
i got 14k into mine and thats als o buying a superduty with a blown 6.0

Thanx for the info,my excursion went for a road trip on friday.Monday or Tuesday I'll know the extent of damage to my 6.0,if its not to bad I'll just Bullet proof my 6.0.If I'm looking at a rebuild or a reman engine then, I'm thinking a Cummins. Good idea or not???
Great Idea!! Depending on how much of the work you plan to do yourself; the swap may be the same price as a new 6.0. Bulletproofing it is a few grand. I'm working that issue on an '05 PSD right now.
