Cruise control is operating sporadically. One day it will work the next day it will not. I have read on other forums that the brake switch maybe going out but did not know if there was some updated information that someone may have experienced. Can the Dash Daq clear this problem or tell me if it is the switch? Do not want to head to the dealership for this problem.

Thanks in Advance

Same problem with mine a couple years ago - Ford said it was the brake sensor. Replaced it and worked well until a few months ago and now doing the same thing. If I press the on button and set it eventually engages and then continues to work until I shut the truck off.

I finally broke down and bought the brake switch that is connected to the master cylinder $45.00. Quick change and problem solved. Cleared a P0730 code and problem solved. Thanks everyone for your input.

Hmmmm, haven't heard about this brake switch grimlin. My cruise works sometimes and doesn't sometimes. I haven't thrown any codes though. It worked fine when I ran it stock, after I tuned it it works on occasion.

Boaz, $45 for a switch? What's it called exactly, and did you get it at a parts store or the stealership? Might be worth a shot for only that much $.

for safety reasons your cruise control has to ways it will shut off when you hit the brake peddle when you hit the brake, one is the brake light switch and the other is brake hydraulic switch which is what went bad on mine.

It is a brake switch on the master cylinder. There are two of them located on the bottom of the master cylinder one is the switch the other is a transducer. The electrical plug is different so you cannot make a mistake with the plugs. I purchased mine at the stealership let them know what problem you are having pretty straightforward fix. I did use my friend to apply a little brake pressure before installing the switch just to clear and air out of the brake line. Let me know if you need anything else. A crowsfoot wrennch with an extension works great at getting it out and tightening the new one.
