Just looking for some info and ideas: I have an international DT360 that I brought to a mechanic for an inframe rebuild. The engine was leaking coolant into the oil. We found the pitted liner during the rebuild. So engine went back together. New liners, pistons, bearings etc… No obvious signs of wear on the rotating assembly. So after approximately 2 hours of running engine developed a knock. Had to finish the trip home. (15 minutes, kept speed down). Got truck towed back to the shop. Mechanic says injectors so rebuilt and replaced them. Still knocking. Mechanic pulls oil pan and the #2 rod bearing is toast, further inspection reveals crank is bent 23 thou. Also one of the main thrust bearing surfaces is toast.
Anybody have any theories on what could have happened?
