Early Bronco and 4bt.....

Yea its a long ways off but heres a start......:ford:

The idea at the moment(you know that always changes) is 4.5" Superlift with new springs all around and traction bars, an aluminum 2.5" body lift(to clear the cummins), disc brakes all around, custom bumpers and roll cage, course every other nick nack you can think of.

Axles New Yukon gears 4:10 for the Dana 44 and Ford 9". Going to disc brake both of them. I cut the shock mounts off the 9" for better angle later

New Gears

New Dana 44 carrier

I've also got my 4.5" Superlift in a week or so ago. New Springs, bushings, bulletproof brake lines, U-bolts, and traction bars.

Frame. I cut the motor mounts and shock towers off and then we sandblasted it clean. I don't have but one good pic of it in primer

Here is a pics of the two 4BT Cummins motors I have...Right now they are out getting machined and reworked

I didn't have my camera during progess so this is after math pics

Last week finally had some time to work on the Bronco...

Had a couple buddies come over to the shop and we all picked the body up and removed it from the frame. We swapped the old frame with one that we had ground down all the welds removed the shocks and motor mounts. I then had it sandblasted and we primed and painted the whole thing.

So basically we tore it completely apart. Swapped in the new frame, installed my 4.5" Superlift and my homeade body lift. Springs from a 70's F150 to hold the motor wieght

As for the body lift when I worked at the offroad shop Jeep kits came with these 4.5" solid aluminum blocks to use as bump stop spacers. We never did install them. Turns out if you cut them in 3rds they make perfect 1.5" body lift blocks. the great part is they already have holes the same exact size as the body bolts from a bronco.

So cut um down and bingo bango 1.5" body lift block for FREE!!!

Anyway here are the progress pics..

super-sweet project!! looks like a great platform to start w/. nice colors, too - i had a buddy w/ a '75 that used about the same blue but w/ a silver two-tone. it was gorgeous.

looks like an np435 trans? or T18? either way, what are your plans for that PTO - going to use it for a winch?

cool project. :rock

You got it its a 435:thumbsup.

Do you have any pics of his rig? I hope it turns out as nice as I hope.

I think for the PTO I will run a hyd pump that way it could run a winch front and rear, and a small generator.
Got the 4bt back

#1 Piston

Can this be fixed?

#3 Piston

This must have come from the Titanic

And the head was cracked between the injector hole and valve on every cylinder.
