now that its finnally really cold here in MA my EBPV has closed for the first time this winter..my question is...is it normal for it to remain close even after the truck warms up and only re-open if i shut it down and restart it?

did it twice...first time was only a 8 minute ride to work....figured maybe it didnt warm up quite enough...then after work it stayed closed for about 40min until i shut it off and filled the tanks up...started back up and it was open...??

i'd like to just get rid of it...it leakes at the base where the shaft goes through anyways.....does any one make an empty housing of the same demensions to put in place of it?

thanks again...

There is a thread here somewhere that gives instructions on gutting it. Just pull the plug for the time being and it will stay open.

I'll look for the thread.

I have instruction on my site that shows you how to gut it, and I also offer a terminator plug for the factory harness to avoid any codes in the PCM.
