Fummins Update and Dyno

Well for those of you who have been wondering what the ol' girl will lay down on the rollers... I finally got to find out this weekend! We left late Friday nite and got down to Salt Lake for Industrial's Dyno Day event around 3AM Saturday morning... but well worth the drive. She made 731 horse to the ground! You can bet I was running around like a little school girl with a big chit eatin' grin on my face! :woohoo I got backed up on the rollers expecting 600ish. Here is the Dyno sheet and a couple pics to prove it!

When we were down at the Industrial Dyno Days event, they were cramming so many truck thru that they weren't taking the time to hook up the tach to see what torque numbers were... so nobody got torque numbers:bang:bang:bang At this point one could only guess, but probably 1400ish??!!??!!
Hey Steel looks awesome! I haven't been on here all summer (been to busy), but glad you bit the bullet and dropped the 6.0 for a cummins. I keep giving my dad a hard time for all of the money he has dropped into his when he could have probably dang near done the conversion by now! Call me some time when you are in town goofing around i wanna see and ride in it!! We'll grab some beers :happymugs!
I wish I could get one to pass smog regulations here in cali. The only thing i would miss is the sound of my V-8
As long as you use an engine from a similar GVW and same year or newer truck, you can swap engines in California. So an engine from an '03 or newer Dodge 2500 or 3500, or an '03 or newer Duramax would be a legal swap into a Ford. It has to go through the State Referee, and all the emissions equipment and check engine light for the engine have to be present and functional, but that's really not as hard as it sounds. I've done engine swaps before and as long as you play inside California's rules, you're good.
:whs

thats why im considering getting rid of my 03 for an OBS.

Garrett
I would love to do an OBS Swap, but around here they are getting scarce. Chris
My next swap will be a sick OBS!!!
How much would something like this cost to do?

there is way to many variables to really answer this, what motor do you think you want to swap? and what trans are you going to use? the 5R110 is not going to live, just ask steel at GOS. I was in the middle of putting a 04 CR in when uncle same decided to send me to Iraq.

dzljon is right. There are so many variables to doing a conversion that you can't really nail down an exact number. If you PM me with all of the info on what you want to do on your conversion, what motor, trans, turbos, injectors, studs, and other upgrades, then I can put together a good number for you. If you have no specific clue which direction you want to go, just let me know what you use the truck for and what you want it to be capable of and I can give you some friendly suggestions!

As everyone knows, we are always happy to answer any and all conversion questions that you may have if you are contemplating doing a swap! Please feel free to call anytime and talk to either myself or Aden as we are both knowledgable on these conversions. 406-222-5440- Steel

I would probably go with just a basic swap, just a stock 04 and up Cummins. Not sure what trans to put behind it. I guess just take care of the swap first then worry about upgading to performance later.

That is what alot of people do. Start out stock and upgrade over time. Manual is the cheapest route as far as the tranny goes.
Go Manual!!!!! The Torqueshift is a beast to tune!!!!!
