Haha, oh... wouldn't you all like to know?? :D Its modified! Notice an ATS pipe only has a T4 flange on it... We use a T6 style turbo!
And the list goes on...

Well, Jarrett and I stayed late last nite and got my interior buttoned up with the snazzy new 08 Console and Harley carpet. The 4R100 is in place and I am almost finished wiring up the PCS. Another couple nites and should have her going! God willing...

Dang nice install.
why are you using a built 4r100 and not the 5r110? is the 4r better/easier to tune? what is involved with getting the 4r to work in a ford that had a 5r? I have had both but never worked on either. Everyone keeps saying go with the 6 speed but the wife just won't have that. Plus my everyday driver is a hand shaker and I like the break, sit through Austin traffic you will know what I mean.

Thanks for the info.

Well to start, the 5R110's are a fininky transmission to tune. There are alot of guys on here who can attest to that. I had a beefed up 5R behind my 6.0, and when I initially did my conversion, I knew that I didn't want to mess with it. So I went with a ZF6 and a big SB 3250 DD clutch. After driving it for the summer and fall, I decided that rowing gears wasn't my thing, so I knew that I wanted to swap back to an Automatic. Well at the same time, we were getting ready to tear Aden's truck apart to add twins, and build the motor, and he was kicking around the idea of putting an Allison in his. We worked out a deal and we freshened up the 4R100 that came out of his truck and put it in mine.

Staying late tonite to see if I can't get it finished up!
Hope the install went well last night. Keep us posted on the tuning of the 4r100, and how it goes.

Thanks

I was at the shop until about 10, got my downpipe built, shift cable bracket all built and hooked up, drivelines in, PCS finished wired, everything cleaned up and tied out of the way, filled with fluid, and test drove around the block and down the street with just the base programming in it. So tonite we are going to tune it and drive her home! The 4R100s are cake to tune, so it shouldn't be any feat! I'll get some pics and videos up soon of the completed project. Well... completed for now LOL
Truck is looking great, a true work in progress...even when you say your are finished, LOL.

looks good Steel. You been busy....if only people wouldnt send you 10000000 emails about buying compound turbos...thank god I finally pulled the trigger...is the ups track at my house yet

Thanks Steel:salute
Check your email Rob- Tracking info is there!
Well just a quick update, trans is fully tuned, and it rips! I have driven it a ton and put about 2500 miles on it in the last couple weeks. Been here and there and everywhere! I am going to try to get a video of it tonite and how it shifts for those of you who are curious. I have the TC lockup pretty firm right now, might back it off a bit so it isn't so sudden for daily driving. Can't say enough just how much I love it! Now I just need to get the other toy finished so I can ride it before all of the snow melts!
