Haha, oh... wouldn't you all like to know??what brand adapter is that for the twin setup?
Well to start, the 5R110's are a fininky transmission to tune. There are alot of guys on here who can attest to that. I had a beefed up 5R behind my 6.0, and when I initially did my conversion, I knew that I didn't want to mess with it. So I went with a ZF6 and a big SB 3250 DD clutch. After driving it for the summer and fall, I decided that rowing gears wasn't my thing, so I knew that I wanted to swap back to an Automatic. Well at the same time, we were getting ready to tear Aden's truck apart to add twins, and build the motor, and he was kicking around the idea of putting an Allison in his. We worked out a deal and we freshened up the 4R100 that came out of his truck and put it in mine.Dang nice install.
why are you using a built 4r100 and not the 5r110? is the 4r better/easier to tune? what is involved with getting the 4r to work in a ford that had a 5r? I have had both but never worked on either. Everyone keeps saying go with the 6 speed but the wife just won't have that. Plus my everyday driver is a hand shaker and I like the break, sit through Austin traffic you will know what I mean.
Thanks for the info.
