Hey guys I was just doing the math... the duramax 4.5L is a CGI block with reverse exhaust flow and a variable turbo charger with common rail.. very similar in design to the new 6.7L. If you take the 520 ft-lbs it is rated at and divide that by 4.5 you get 115.55555 and if you take that times 6.7 you get 774.22222.

My official guess on torque for the new 6.7L is 760 ft-lbs of Torque with 430 HP.

That would make sense comparing the design to the 325 HP / 570 ft-lb 6.0L & the 6.4L at 350 / 650.

We all know the 6.4L is detuned and a much more capable machine. Ford may of not of held the 6.7L back as much as IH did and on top of that it should be capable of more power due to design, and sheer displacement.. 389 ci vs 407 ci.

760 ft-lbs :usflag

I think there is a chance that Ford sand bags the first year or two and then gives the public a reason to come back for more in 2013 or something by cranking it back up a little out of the box.

Hmmmm. Better heads, CGI Block, reverse intake design..Heck, This is a whole new engine. I know on some sites there claiming of a news leak of 400/720+. But I believe ford is waiting on GM to release there numbers before they release theres..so my bet is
415/725 for the 6.7 and 410/425 for the 6.2 gas..

I think Ford goes all out with the numbers to try and reclaim some lost sales from the 6.0l. I'm going for 450/770. I like big!!!!

Thats a good idea, thats what Goverment Motors was doing all along, they would wait for Ford to release the #'s and then put out just alittle higher # for marketing's sake. Glad Ford caught onto there little scheme.
