I changed my Racor 445 fuel filter and then used the Racor primer pump to push fuel up to my stock filter. I started the truck and it ran for a minute and died. The stock filter had started leaking fuel and thus sucking air. I had to order new fuel heater quad rings from Stanadyne (part # 28869 they come in a pack of five) to get it to seal backup so the truck would run.

I've never had a issue in the past like this and I've had my Racor since 2002.

Has anyone had the primer on their Racor cause a leak on the stock GM/Stanadyne fuel filter?

How much pressure can the Racor primer produce?

I doubt that the primer is causing any grief, the fuel should be able to flow out to the IP and then on through the return lines un obstructed.

The fuel heater and WIF sensor have been common leak points over the years, the o-rings just fail from age.

The orings are nothing special. You can buy viton ones from any decent hydrualics shop, just bring the old ones for size.
