the 5r110 (2003-2009) uses a "6" speed tranny - only 5 gears are ever used.I thought the 6.0L already had a 6 speed. I have been eye balling the GV. i have heard great things about them. It is just hard to get over the price.
yup & at the end of the day whats it matter - your RPMs on theok, your telling me we have 6 speeds, BUT the tranny only uses 5 of them. :wtf
Subscribed to thread:happymugsyup & at the end of the day whats it matter - your RPMs on the
interstate are STILL too high to 1) keep up w/ traffic and 2) get decent
mpg.
75mph at 1630rpm will be nice (im guessing thatll be close to 21mpg) !
but im really lookin' forward to runnin' 95mph @ 2000rpm![]()
Slight hijack, but what would be nice would be if you could get the trans rebuilt with (is it fourth that is the <5* gear?) The unused gear to be replaced with the next gear up, so 5th sits where 4th was 6th sits where 5 was and there is then a super overdrive installed where 6th was. then get the trans programed to run all 6 gears unless tow haul is activated then only the first 5 run, the standard set.ok, your telling me we have 6 speeds, BUT the tranny only uses 5 of them. :wtf
16 inch wheels and stock tires put me at about 32 inches.Subscribed to thread:happymugs
Are you on stock tires?? I am sitting darn close to where you are going to be, I have 3.73 rears and dont know how your 2-300rpms higher than me at same speed. My readings should be the same as a standard 4X4 as I havent recalibrated the dash for my tires, So when my truck is telling me I am pushing 1750rpm at 72mph I am really going closer to 76~79mph (LIDAR verified) or so and as long as I dont shut the motor down I see 20+mpg easy. It is the warm up cycle that kills my mpg, I know as I see a differance from 330miles per tank or 440
In other words I WANT MORE SPECS ON YOUR TRUCK pleaseopcorn
