ok I have a 2005 F350 6L diesel the truck is hard to start when cold after it's warm it will start on first crank so that leads me to think I may have to change glow plugs I just bought a scan gauge II haven't hooked it up yet the truck has 160,000 KMs on it so how do I change the glow plugs or should I take it to the dealer and have them change the glow plugs

If you are mechanically inclined and have the tools, do it yourself. It is not the easiest to do, but not too hard. More important, use Motorcraft or Beru glow plugs ONLY. All of the others are garbage. They swell and it makes removing the glow plugs almost impossible.

Also, check FICM voltages on cold start.
