yep in the late-80's and up to 98 i think....:thumbsup

GM actually put the 5.7 Olds diesel in the half tons from '79-81 and then used the new 6.2 in all trucks starting in the fall of '81 for the '82's.

Sad part is, first numbers were the same as the LB7.

6.5L in my 1994 GMC Yukon...placard on the door says 1500; That's the 1/2 ton chassis. Great truck; great motor I believe it was also an option on the 1500 series pickups

There's a guy at work with a 6.5L 1500 pickup, it's a turd (as they all were)

Too bad about the new ones, I guess it'll take another $100 spike in crude oil to spur interest again :bang

man this sucks i was really lookin forward to them coming out with this motor. i drive at least 30 thousand miles a year and could really use the life of a diesel without needin a 3/4 ton truck...

yea a 190hp n 380tq isn't much of diesel. prolly worked best in the 1500's. . .But GM was always good at building strong Gasser's . . .
