My family decided to take me to dinner for my birthday. My older brother and I had a bit to drink,:HappyMugs so I didn't drive home, my dad took the wheel. With him and my mother up front, my brother, sister and I in the back pull up next to a 1999-2002 Camaro Z28. A bunch of young guys in the car, start giving my ol' man the "hey grampa, nice truck, be careful not to drive too fast, you might lose your dentures." (my dad just turned 50) He says, "can this truck take 'em?" I answered "without a doubt". The light turns, they take off, my dad hammers it, not the best launch ever, but the turbo spooled up and we were gone. We shot past the punks, got to the next light, and we had all the windows down and are all laughing and pointing. They want to go again, this time, I gave instructions on how to launch. Light changes, we get some tire slippage, but we're out front, she finally hooks and there's nothing but headlights seen through a cloud of smoke behind us. After that they wouldn't even pull up next to us, they were in an empty lane, about 20 feet back.:roflmao:

I barely walked to the truck without falling down, there was no way I'd risk the lives of my whole family, plus my dream truck.

I could have thought up something better, but hey, I was drunk. I'm surprised I got that out.

I love the older Camaros.
I grew up with my Mom driving me to preschool in a 1969 ragtop RS back in the day. It was the "car of the day" back then.
I still have it and it is a lot of fun.

That being said, I still prefer the feel of a truck.

There is no next time, he drove to my house and kicked me out of the truck. He says "go drive your navigator, it can't sit in the garage all it's life" and sped off.LOL I haven't seen the truck since. I guess I'll be buying new tires tomorrow.:roflmao:
