My uncle has a 05 with 103,000 miles and ford said his egr valve went bad ans caused the head gasket to blow. My uncle said they put in a new egr valve and it runs fine. Would the truck get hot or have fluid loss? What are signs that the head gaskets are blown. All by the way he said he seen white smoke from the exhaust.

when you see the white smoke its is coolant burning most of the time...you have to get out and smell it...pull the dipsitck and if its milky they would be blown...or if coolant is being lost... it could be the egr cooler also

over the time, the truck will lose coolant and get hot. You may hear a whistling if it's real bad and possibly some puking.
