No cab removal need. Some just pull a bolt and replace with stud one by one. If I do studs in my truck I will pull the head and have it machined to a true deck and tap each stud hole (this prevents oil leaks around the valve cover). If you pull the head there are access ports in the cowl you can get the push rods through. If I were doing studs I would deck head, tap stud holes and slap a new gasket in her.
