ok guys i REALLY need some help... we are trying to figure out just exactly what it would take to replace a c13 acert with a single turbo c15 3406e or a c12 even.. would prefure a c15 but i keep getting told that it wont fit in place of a c13,,i really dont know what it would take to do theis and need some help..its gona take 8000 to fix the c13 and it just isnt worth it to us we hate that engine thanks alot heath:help:help:help

Why are you being told it won't fit????? Probably the most commonly installed motor from the factory. Sure,you may need to do some custom work,but it would certainly be a great upgrade if you like the truck otherwise. Your trans may be a bit light,but would work till you get a chance to upgrade.

thats what i am thanking but im getting alot of resistance saying it is almost imp.. im wondering were the difference is in the motor mounts my exh hood looks like the rear mounts are in the same place on the frame with the c15 as they are on the short hood with c13 but idk hopeing i can get some concrete info from you guys i know someone on here has taken part in this same thing ;)

ya thanks for your input i agree i feel thats its a matter of how much work you wana do..i just dont thank it would require that much but idk maybe im wrong

I have a 379 Standard hood I'd like to do this with. I HATE my C-12. I have a buddy that has a truck salvage yard so we measured the motor mounts on both the motor's. The E model/C-15 is longer so the motor mounts will have to be redrilled on the frame. I don't know if it's worth it in my case. I think I'll just find another truck with a C-15 and a drop axle and set my wet kit up on it and move on. Post what you find out. I'm interested to see what you find. Good luck!

for any of you that are wondering the c13 3406e repower is almost done..had to change a lot of stuff mounts turbo and air to air plumbing some wireing ..engine came out of a international so had to get a different oil pan and sump
been a pain but i thank it will be great in the end

thanks for the update glad to hear you're just about done. I'm sure probly was a pain but only for a short time. the pleasure of a c 15 will go on and on and on!
