The WTS light and the GPR aren't directly connected. GPR will stay on for up to 2 minutes depending on conditions. It sounds to me like maybe you have a charging system problem.

I have a freind who had that problem. Truned out to be the alternator, but his voltage was bouncing as he drove down the road. Also check your plugs into the head gaskets to make sure they are not burnt!

Hope this helps!

I checked with another freind of mine and he said to check for a short in the glow plug wiring! DONT DRIVE IT IF IT IS A SHORT IT COULD BURN OUT THE ALT, AND RELAY!! I would look for the short, if u dont find one pull the wiring up off the motor, to make sure it isnt touching metal! Check for burnt relays in the fuse box also!

I really dont think short drive times have anything to do with it, as longe as you let it warm up first! and cool down before turning off!

I hope this helps!

Gpr

Like KRP said the wait to start light and the GPR are totally unrelated. The GPR will stay on depending on outside air temp, engine oil temp. The draw you see on your guage is normal to an extent. Without actual readings I can't tell you exactly were to go. It does sound to me like your alternator is functioning properly but you possibly have one or two weak batteries. Load test the batteries it sounds to me like they don't carry a load very well but the recovery sounds fine for the alternator. You can test your GPR by doing a KOEO test. Test for 12 volt operation on the GPR, do this a couple of times because I have seen them go intermittent. If your not seeing 12 volts you need to check your batteries for sure. Also look for discoloration on the glow plug side of the controller, or melting of the rubber boot. For the money just replace if your seeing this happening. Hope this helps, if you have any questions just pm or call me.

I think when he said controller he just meant GPR. It is the on top of the engine. Looks just like a starter relay or somehting like that does, can't miss it.
