I have a 99 with an auto trans, quadzilla, stage 2 injectors, holleyblue, gauges, k&n, straight pipe 3" from turbo and 4" from the end of the down pipe, and an adjustable boost elbow with no adjustment left. Whenever i set the quadzilla to "3" the egts peg the gauge @ 1600 until i let off. What can i do to help this?

Make sure you filter is clean first off. I know it sounds silly but alot of people out there have pretty dirty filters and don't clean them. I don't know much about the quadzilla or your injectors but sounds like you got alot of fuel and not alot of air. I'd look into a new turbo, 3 piece exhaust manifold, air intake elbow, that kind of stuff.....

You need more air...

Check the filter for being clean...
Consider BHAF... Better than a K&N...
Consider a larger turbo...
Straight pipe the exhaust (all 4" inch)

I appreciate all your help! Are the egts I'm seeing normal? The "3" on the quad says it will give me 120/325 and the nozzles are rated at 75/150. What does "bhaf" mean?

There is a frieghtliner in my friends yard with some kind of holset on it. I don't know what size it is, but do you think it would work? The intake side is either 4 or 5 inches and i know the exhaust side is 5. It looks like the truck is some what newer maybe 2000-2003. The guy rolled it on the driver side about 3 years ago. They turned it back on its wheels took the seats, stereo, and cb out and it has been sitting there ever since. I already have the stack off of it, it is going on ebay. Any input would be great.

truck turbos don't usually have the right exhaust housing on them for a pickup. If you can get the model number off of it you could find out where you stand. I think you could just put a hx40 housing on your hx35 and notice a big drop in temps and air flow. They aren't too high... like 400 for a 14cm with a wastegate. Just look at you options. It doesn't make sence to put a huge turbo on your truck if you can't spool it.

On the egt thing, how many miles are on the truck and what shape are the vp and lift pump in? I know when my vp was on its last leg it made some high egt's and didn't make the power it was supposted to.

The truck has 115k on it, the lift pump is 2 weeks old and the holley blue I put on last weekend. As far as the vp I would guess it has the same as the truck.

I emailed htt, when they responded they told me that the net drop in egts will only be about 100-150* with a comp housing, wheel, and exhaust housing. Now what:shrug: I really don't want to spend $1000 on a turbo. What turbo can i get used that would work well?

Here you go...
http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/2002 Dodge/BOMBS/bhaf/bhaf.htm

Just remember the more fuel you add to the engine the highier the pyro will go up. 1,200*F is max safe temp. Aluminum pistons melt at about 1,280*F... You can go pass this for short periods but it won't take long for for those psitons to heat up...

So you must increase your boost pressure or reduce you fuel injection to control you pyro temps...

I have a autozone close by, i copied all the #'s hopefully they will be able to cross them to something that they sell.
As for htt turbo bolt ons for the hx35 wont help (thats what they said only 100-150*, how about some turbo #'s or some type that I can find on ebay or in a junk yard somewhere?

I used to run one of those K&N filters, and would be able to peg the pyro, right on past 1600 even when I had just cleaned the filter. I just switched Over to an AFE when I had the truck apart, and even with the new trans, Floored rolling 90mph up hill it won't break 1400. I used to drop about 200* running bio-d, so I'm going to give that a shot again and see what it does. I would suggest a better filter, and maybe better injectors.

I see your running bosch 300's. What are the hp/tq ratings of those? Are you still using the stock turbo?

Those vary from Model year to model year. I've heard From 45-65hp, they are little guys. I think that that difference comes from model year, but I'm not sure. And yes I am still running the stock charger and I have some room to grow with it still IMO.
