If you want to ask anymore questions about the High Output engine you could exchange the letters HO with ETH. My girlfriend gets offended when people use the word Ho.

There is thread I'll try and dig up that'll answer everything about the ETH engine.

ETH was the engine code for the High Output.
ETC was the engine code for the Standard Output.

No one is using the word "hoe" as you are saying. Everyone inlcuding myself I have ever heard pronounce it say H.O as in saying the letters.

For the record, no one on here has to call the HO engine a ETH on this site. Just for the simple reason we are not being derogative when using it.

I've seen a couple 2000 6spds but they were all ETCs.

how do u know if u have a H.O? whats the diff?

HO's have higher compression ratio's, came with different tuning, and were more powerful factory, also, don't take to tunes over 65hp as well as SO's

So H.O where never Auto's then Y do some auto engines have a 7 on the vin.

it's my truck and it's a 2000 auto and the last 3 # of the VIN are 477
