Looks like trying to stuff that second turbo may explain a bit of the reason for the sightings of the taller hood on the 07.

Too bad there isn't a close up of the dyno results! Loks kinda kewl though with the huge exhuast pipe and the twin inlets into the first turbo. This engine might be more than I expected. I sure hope they mate it to a twin overdrive 6 gear auto for fuel economy though!

I'll bet those are'nt supposed to be public...LOL
I say its it Ford propaganda.

If this were an individual why are the photos 9 months old and taken from behind the motor (not revealing much at all)? I'm sure Ford could tell you in 5 minutes where that photo was taken which in return would get somebody fired fast.

A good friend of mine is an Engineer for a company that builds QC machines for automotive companies. His project is the new 6.4 over at Navistar in Indy. He said you would not believe the security they have at that place. He has to be escorted to his work area and back to the main door.

He did sneak me a couple of pics on his camera phone of the test cell areas. The pics realy suck though b/c he acted like he was on his phone while he snapped them for me.

I'll see if I can dig them up from him.....

"IF" that is what the 6.4L will be like, I feel sorry for the poor souls that have to work on them. (aka Diesel techs) I guess this explains the need for the raised hood. Will need the extra clearance for the twins. Guess Ford will be using high temp paint on the hood? LOL

That IS the 6.4L!!
I'm just curious how the guy managed to get a camera within 50000000 ft of the thing! It is true what biava said about the security surrounding the new motor. I could not even get my cell with camera anywhere near it or the new truck! And to the credit of another poster this arrangement is the reason for a new hood. However do remember the camo is there to be decieving.

What a nightmare,Ford keeps going further and further from what a commercial truck buyer wants,an easy to access, and service engine bay. With labor rates aproaching 100 an hr in most places,If you didnt have tiny hands or know how, you wont be able to afford to drive it once the warranty runs out.
