Have a 2005 SD sb and a Leer- shell. When I bought it the sales guy told me that the only leak would be around the boot to the cab- made sense, was ok with that.

Well that is not true- with the slightest water - interesting after car wash no leaks- driving with little rain the inside along the box sides is wet-not at the boot, it seams to be at the joint between the shell and the bed. Have had it back to dealer (camper guy) and reset it twice- still leaks. Well the reason I put it on was to keep my tools dry.

Not happy....I have had many trucks and shells never had this problem before

Anyone had this - is the seal bad- shell bad. I give- no help from dealer.

Sticky side down on the foam gasket and a small shim of 1/32 in (formica) right at the clamps or bolts. It should set flat so the gasket drags a piece of paper at any place around the base of the topper. It is common to need 2 layers for the first 4 feet. After it is set check that the foam is in place and not damaged.

I have also seen 2 strips of EPDM bulb gasket used, inside and out side the bolt/clamp area.

Some climates need insulation to cure condensate.
