I have a 2004 lly and just found out this summer I have a problem, with Overheating. GM has just ordered the 06 airbox, but from what I have been reading, it does not work. It is a shame we are all beating are heads against the wall trying to fix a problem that should be fixed by GM. I will let them try but has anyone pursued the lemon law?

The law is state governed. You will have to learn about your provisions. Please describe your "problem" and the conditions that led to it.

If you run an Airbox with the mass airflow sensor in the SAME location as stock it will just shut the EGR valve anyway and not work.

There is a few places out there that made an airbox that has the EGR SENSOR relocated. Once this sensor is relocated it fools the box into thinking only a certain amount of O2 is getting in, when in reality you a just shoving almost double the air when you look at a CFM rating.

In certain cases I have seen this lower the heat big time. You get a better burn because the EGR valve is not limiting the amount of O2.

I think AFE has one but not sure if they relocated the sensor yet, try them first. If not try banks because I know they have one for sure because I have seen it on a few LB7's and mostly LLY's.

Yes. Many LLY owners have filed claims against GM to exchange or buy back their trucks; few have succeeded. In most cases the process has been painfully long and difficult; the owners that have succeeded have had legal council.

If you wish to pursue this, you may wish to contact member DWRat; he successfully had his LLY bought back in exchange for a new LBZ. Otherwise, pm me; I'll let you know how to get in touch with other folks that have successfully had their LLY's bought back.

If you would rather correct your LLY's tendency to over heat; there's two modifications available that will eliminate the problem, the TD-EOC and the Rad Mod V2.

i have started the lemon law process through the bbb and everything has went pretty smoothly so far. hopefully the arbitration also goes well.
